- Central nervous system illnesses, ranging in seriousness from mild viral meningitis to encephalitis, with coma, paralysis, and death
- Mild fever illnesses, with or without rash
- Hemorrhagic fevers that can be serious and life-threatening
- Arthritis and rash, with or without fever.
