Rimantadine: Storage Methods

Rimantadine should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep rimantadine tablets and syrup in an airtight container.
 
Keep rimantadine and all other medications out of the reach of children.
 

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Rimantadine?

If you miss a dose of rimantadine, take the missed dose as soon as you remember, then continue with your regular schedule. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as directed. Do not take a double of rimantadine.
 

Who Makes Rimantadine?

Brand-name rimantadine is manufactured by Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Generic versions of rimantadine are made by various manufacturers.
 

Rimantadine Strengths

Rimantadine is available in the following strengths and forms:
 
  • Rimantadine 100 mg tablets
  • Rimantadine 50 mg/ 5 mL syrup, which contains 50 mg of rimantadine per 5 mL (per teaspoonful) and is raspberry flavored.
     

Is There a Generic Version of Rimantadine?

Currently, generic rimantadine tablets -- but not syrup -- are available (see Generic Flumadine).
