Doxorubicin
Doxorubicin can make zidovudine less effective and may also increase the risk of zidovudine side effects. In general, these medications should not be taken together.
 
Fluconazole
Fluconazole may increase the level of zidovudine in your blood, potentially increasing your risk of side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before using these medications together, as you may need to be monitored more closely.
 
Ganciclovir
Combining ganciclovir with zidovudine may increase your risk of zidovudine side effects, particularly side effects that affect blood cells. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your blood counts very closely if you are taking both of these medications.
 
Interferon Medications
Taking an interferon with zidovudine may increase your risk of zidovudine side effects, particularly side effects that affect blood cells. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your blood counts very closely if you are taking these drugs at the same time.
 
Methadone
