Drug Interactions With Zidovudine

Nelfinavir
Nelfinavir may decrease the level of zidovudine in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Probenecid
Probenecid may increase the level of zidovudine in your blood, possibly increasing your risk of side effects. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Ribavirin
Combining ribavirin with zidovudine can increase the risk of serious side effects and may make zidovudine less effective. In general, this combination of medications should be avoided, if possible.
 
Rifampin
Rifampin may decrease the level of zidovudine in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Rifapentine
Rifapentine may decrease the level of zidovudine in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Ritonavir
Ritonavir may decrease the level of zidovudine in your blood, perhaps making it less effective. Talk with your healthcare provider before taking these medications together.
 
Stavudine
Zidovudine may make stavudine less effective. In general, these two medications should not be used together.
 
Valganciclovir
Combining valganciclovir with zidovudine may increase your risk of zidovudine side effects, particularly side effects that affect blood cells. Your healthcare provider may need to monitor your blood counts very closely if you are taking these medications at the same time.
